Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ cup bread cubes
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 pinch chili flakes
- 1 pinch fennel seeds
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/3 cup diced onion
- 1 ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- ¾ teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 ½ teaspoon shredded pecorino Romano
- 1 tablespoon minced Italian parsley
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions:
- Soak the bread cubes in the milk until softened, then add meat
- Sauté the onions and garlic in the olive oil with chili flakes and fennel seed until browned. Cool completely
- Add black pepper, diced onion, minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, pecorino Romano, Italian parsley, and kosher salt and mix thoroughly.
- Shape into balls and grill until medium rare
- Serve with basil pesto
